The foundation for this 2004 is our estate vineyard in Santa Barbara. This cool, maritime-influenced site was tailor-made for Sauvignon Blanc. The addition of Napa and Lake County fruit adds richness and ripe melon flavors to the blazing structure of the Central Coast fruit.
WINEMAKINGAll of the juice (free run only) was cold-fermented, aged in stainless steel tanks and bottled early to preserve the wine's inherent freshness, varietal accuracy and zingy acidity. A small addition of Semillion (13%) lends a dash of nuttiness to the bouquet and extra weight to the texture.
WINEMAKER NOTESThis 2004 is amazingly bright and refreshing. It is crisp and intense with dried herbs, grass, citrus and melon in the nose and on the palate. Great acid; great balance; textbook Sauvignon Blanc.
